The last Friday, 17th of September, the Basque Association of Beach Tennis and Minority Sports organized in Deusto (Bilbao-Basque Country) the II Basque Championship of Ring Tennis (Doubles). We usually organized once a year the Basque Championship Individual, Doubles and Triples, but in 2020 we couldn´t organize the doubles so the last day we play the second edition of the Basque tournament in pair.
We gathered in a “futsal” court in Deusto 8 players; 7 men and 1 woman and we made 4 pairs. We started playing at 5:45 pm and we need more than one hour and a half to finish the tournament.
There was quite a bit of equality and tension in all three rounds. We played everyone against everyone and finally the best couple was the one formed by Egoitz and Ana, although they had to play very well to win their games. The idea is next year to organize new Ring Tennis tournaments again with the aim of improving, promoting the sport and training for the next World Championship. Here the results:
